In the beggining of august i’m flying out to New York to meet my boyfriend (who lives in Vancouver) for about 5 days and than i’m getting a coach to Penn State uni to study for a few months. It would be good to fly out to NY but to fly back from State College in Pennsylvania, but to do that i would have to get single air tickets….. Is it cheaper to get a return to NY than to get 2 single flights?? Plus i’m not sure whether you can buy single tickets with immigration control etc and a student visa? Is it cheaper to get last minute deals on flights or to book in advance?

We’re not sure to either book a hotel with one of our flights so it’s a package thing or if it’s cheaper to book a hotel room seperately or to go out there and just look for a B&B; if they do them out there? We want to stay some where fairly decent, preferably a hotel but what’s the best way to get it as cheap as possible?

My boyfriend is going to be visiting me in July for three weeks. He is going from Hawaii (HNL) to Connecticut (BDL). Of course, he didn’t listen to me a few months ago when I said to buy his ticket. Rather, he waited until this week to start looking and he’s flipping out that the average cost for a round trip ticket is $1200. A few months ago tickets were about $800/$900.

So, where is the best place online to find tickets on the cheaper side? I’ve been trying to look but most prices are about the same.

And, what is a decent airline? I’ve only flown from Connecticut to Florida and back a few times (about a two hour flight) and I’ve gone on Southwest. I didn’t mind them too much, but I was only on the plane for a little while. He’s going to be traveling for about a whole day (changing flights twice), and in the air for about 14 hours.

Thank you so much for your help. If I can’t find a cheap enough flight, he might now be able to visit me until next summer. =(

Now, as I am not a US resident one of my favorite things about going to the US is to do some shopping so this will be a travel both for the concert and shopping. I am not looking for upscale stores (Gucci, Prada or the like) but just regular shopping malls, Best Buy, TJMAXX, Walmart and the like. Staying in downtown Chicago is very expensive for the hotel prices. For my kind of shopping would I have more options in Orlando or in Chicago. Is going to Schaumburg, IL or any place near downtown Chicago is really an option where I could find more stores and shopping options than in Orlando and better bargains, VARIETY, and prices?
